Production Manager – Phoenix Neutron Imaging Center

Position Overview:

The Production Manager is responsible for day-to-day production operations and supervision of activities at the Phoenix Neutron Imaging Center (PNIC), including imaging services, warehouse management, shipping logistics, and facilities maintenance. The PNIC Production Manager will ensure on-time delivery of services that meet customer requirements and profitability targets. The position is responsible for developing a highly functional team that uses lean and continuous improvements to create a best-in-class organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain workflow and manufacturing policies to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework
  • Monitor and improve productivity, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner
  • Ensure worker safety though development and enforcement of a PNIC Safety program, and coordination with the QA, Safety, & Facilities Manager, Radiation Safety Officer, and other specialists
  • Coordinate service needs for multiple simultaneous customers and manage an ongoing resource loaded production schedule
  • Ensure equipment’s preventative maintenance and facilities are properly maintained and available to meet production requirements
  • Work with Quality to develop root cause and implement corrective actions for operations issues
  • Support Phoenix in building relationships with prospective users and customers of the Phoenix technology
  • Review forecast to develop budgets and labor, facility, and equipment requirements
  • Report to upper management on delays, blockers, and opportunities to improve processes
  • Hire, train, and evaluate personnel performance
  • Motivate and coach the team to achieve operational success
  • Track and report metrics to executive team

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • ASNT Level 3 Neutron Radiographer Certification preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience as a supervisor or leadership capacity preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management preferred
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce CRM preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and radiological controls
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group
  • Strong ERP, MS office, data analysis skills
