Technical Writer

Position Overview:

The Technical Writer drives the creation and structure of documentation for use by the field service team and end-user. The Technical Writer participates in the product development to ensure that required documentation exists before the product ships. This position works with the Engineering and Service departments to create and release content for user manuals, service manuals, facility interface specifications, etc. Although the position reports to the Service Manager, the selected candidate may provide content writing support to other departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Author and control documentation for service work instructions, customer-facing manuals, troubleshooting guides and other technical documentation.

  • Develop a strong technical understanding of Phoenix’s products.

  • Coordinate peer-review and publication of new documentation.

  • Provide recommendations for implementation of publishing and content management tools.

  • Lead the continuous improvement of technical documentation based on customer and field engineer feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience as a technical writer;

  • Experience with content management systems;

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks;

  • Experience with radiation-generating equipment, especially particle accelerator technology (e.g. HV power supplies, vacuum, RF, electromagnets);

  • Former military or nuclear industry experience;
